11:58 pm aeryun [Link]	Wrisomifu...day 28 Date night was fun. I learned something, that after four kids you would think I'd have known already...Missed this lesson though. When seven months pregnant, the order of the date should be, long ass movie first, dinner second. And three drinks at dinner makes for quite a few trips to the restroom durring said long ass movie. (btw, for those that would want to yell when I say "Drinks" while pregnant. The worst ingerdient in my drink for the baby, was the caffeine.) 2012 is a decent movie. I am pretty sure it will go in my DVD collection next to ID4 and the volcano movies. Dinner was good too. Can never go wrong at a hibatchi (sp?) grill. My California roll was exceptional as well. Although, my cat hasn't left me alone since I sat down. She seems to think that I will share my dinner. She doesn't seem to understand that I don't share very well. She even passed up a Pounce to sit and stare at me. Not very smart of her. Our poor tree looks so lonely this year. But, we just don't see the point of decorating further. No point in putting holes in walls that we will jsut have to repair in a few months time. Both Jeff and I agree, the less we have to deal once we get the OK to leave, the better for everyone. Is anyone else not getting Email notifications? I got a few from the Snape_Potter group on IJ, but no personal ones recently. lol is IJ on strike, or is just no one here? 12:02 am facecat [Link]	Cody Just returned from the emergency vet's with Cody. X-rays (different views than my vet)show that his cancer is far more advanced than I thought. That upsets me greatly a) because he is so sick and b) that my vet didn't discern this info. Given that the cancer is so far advanced & that his symptoms have become very pronounced over the past week I have decided that it would be in his best interest to have him euthanized. I already have an appointment for Monday morning, I was actually going to get more x-rays done, so it will be done then, hoping that he makes it that long. The ER Vet put him on bronchodialators & antibiotics & told me I could increase his pain meds so he's been dosed to the gills tonight & I will continue with that tomorrow. One more day. 07:23 pm celandineb [Link]	Stuff of a stufflike stuffness As we say in these parts. Another pretty mellow day; got up late, and decided not to grocery shop today since we had sufficient milk etc. to hold us till tomorrow, and fridge space was still at a premium with various leftovers occupying it. (We ate up a few things for dinner tonight.) Ran an errand or two, though, and have done almost all the LIS reading (1.5 more chapters to go) and posted in discussion for one class. Also hung out in the front yard with SO and the neighbors for a while. Tomorrow I'll grocery shop, then make a whole lot of cranberry nut bread mini-loaves for gifting, and make mashed potatoes for dinner with leftover turkey & gravy and more leftover veggies. Turkey Sun/Tues/Thurs, gumbo Mon/Wed/Fri, I think. Easy. Will just need to make more veg eventually. We're going to throw a little holiday party in a couple of weeks and I'm starting to plot food for that. Fic-stuff: alisanne is modding adventdrabbles at IJ again this year; she posts a daily prompt from December 1-24, but it's not required to use it, and ficlets as well as drabbles are welcome, in any fandom. beren_writes mods adventdrabbles at LJ, although doesn't do the prompts. Less than 2 weeks until 3fan_holidays ficlets are due, and I put up the header template post for that today. And hd_holidays starts posting Tuesday, as will daily_deviant's Kinky Kristmas, and I believe also happy_trekmas. Now have only a couple of minor gifts yet to find/buy, plus stocking stuff, plus sew waistcoat for SO (which won't happen till the semester is over, but also doesn't have to be shipped anywhere). And I think he's decided on and possibly ordered something for me already. So basically - we are done with gift organizing. Wow. Now, whether we can get in gear with cards/letter remains to be seen. 09:00 pm aeryun [Link]	Wrisomifu...day 27 I love black Friday! I get up late, well late enough. I woke up at 10:30 and was to awake to try to go back to sleep. Then I laze around. Kids pretty much do what they want, and I don't cook a damned thing. (unless you count nukin left-overs as cooking) I think I even ended up taking a nap for an hour or so. Great kinda day in my book. Is my cat the only one that chirps? I have never heard a cat chirp before we got this one. She hears the Pounce shake or open, and she is all chirps and merorows. Noisy thing. (She's a fat thing too, lol) I got a reply from the IM. She still refuses to even meet me at the airport. But, the shuttle might not be as bad as I first thought. It is one you book your seat in a head of time. She could have saved me quite a bit of worry had she simply given me all the information, but she still seems to think that the longer the emails are the move evil they are. I might just have to mention that, most likely won't though. At this point I doubt it would do any good. It's really sad, the turn this relationship has taken. Date night tomorrow. 07:07 pm celandineb [Link]	Black Friday In the event SO and I did do a little holiday shopping today. Both of our cars went in to the dealer/mechanic this morning - I needed an oil change and tire rotation, and it turned out that I'd picked up a nail in one sidewall, so also ended up getting a new tire; SO had to get an underneath piece replaced. So that all took a while, and then we went and had a burger for lunch, and decided to check out a couple of galleries/shops in the art district afterward. We now have gifts for all parental units and siblings (although not my BIL and niblings yet). So go us! SO also went to the good local independent bookstore to pick up something he'd ordered, but there was no going to malls or anything of that sort. I've now written the last quiz for my lower-div class, so that means IIRC I have no more prep in either class to do, though I do have some reading and grading. Also have both reading and work to do for LIS classes, though, which I hope to get to tonight/tomorrow. I could have started on some of it, but I finished a novel instead. Also have started thinking about holiday cards/letters, though haven't gotten very far with that yet. Turkey breast is roasting and smelling yummy. I'll temp it shortly, and once it's done the dressing goes into the oven (my tiny oven will not hold both a bird and another dish at once). Then make gravy, and all the rest is leftover veggies. mouth is watering We had a very nice time with J., C., and F. yesterday, and good food, but I do like having leftover turkey of our own.
